The Art Hotel is a rather large and ongoing category of work, some of it published, much of it not. It reflects an interest I have in some of the byways of modern art history and its connections with the history of everything else. What do they have to say about how art and poetry ‘communicate?’ How did you like your Tiepolo panini? These texts don’t represent your usual way of writing art history or your usual way of writing poems. I should say nothing is made up, so you may comfortably suspend your disbelief. In these texts I have an interest in how the edges of a poem may be used to enlarge the way it inhabits its context. What might be done with initial capital letters in the poetic line, or with footnotes or hyperlinks, to reshape its meaning.
